Chris Brown, PE
| President
Chris has been with Mid-South for over 29 years. He is responsible for day-to-day operations and long-range strategic planning. He ensures that Mid-South remains a viable company conducting business in a professional manner, producing high quality deliverables, and achieving recognition as a design leader.

John Westerman, PE
| Vice President
John has over 29 years of experience with Mid-South. Along with his role as VP, he still acts as Project Manager on major capital projects and manages Mid-South’s project managers and engineers related to the solid wood industry.

Kevin Coffman
| Project Panning & Business Development
With over 20 years of industry experience, Kevin collaborates with clients to transform ideas into detailed project plans by defining project parameters, including scope, timeline, and estimated costs. He pays particlular attention to schedule, budget, workload, estimates, client relationships, and contracts.

Dylan DeMacy
| Director of Operations, Cary, North Carolina
Over 15 years of experience that covers various industries and markets. Experience in both Greenfield & Brownfield projects, with a heavy concentration in Wood Pellets and OSB facilities.

Walter Goodine
| Director of Operations, Orono, Maine
Over 20 years industrial experience in pulp and paper, energy, sawmills, and molded fiber. Walter has held leadership positions in operations, maintenance, reliability, engineering and project management.

Gary Sihota, P.Eng.,PMP
| Director of Operations, Richmond, B.C.
Gary has been with Mid-South Canada over 14 years. His established industry connections and focus on business development support continued growth for the Richmond office. Starting his career as a design engineer, he progressed to project manager and now works in engineering consulting. This role entails advanced specialization in Industrial Mill Design from from sawmills, planermills, pellet plants, veneer plants, & plywood plants. Notable experience includes feasibility studies, conceptual planning & design, Captial cost estimates and procurement.

Rod Gronlund
| Director of Engineering, Richmond, B.C.
Rod has been with the Stolberg Group for 51 years, starting with Stolberg Construction in 1968. Rod worked up through the ranks to project superintendent in charge of all construction disciplines on projects up to 250 workers. 1975, he became Manager of our Prince George office managing all facets of construction management. Stolberg Engineering was formed in 1980, and from 1982 until 1994 Stolberg preformed many projects on a “Design-Build” platform which Rod became heavily involved in, and advanced to V.P. of Project Planning and Development. From 1984 to present Rod has been involved in 113 major projects, plus numerous smaller forest related projects including sawmills, planermills, wood rooms, plywood plants and pellet plants.

Cody Chisholm, PE
| Director of Operations, Roger, AR.
Cody is responsible for talent acquisition, growth, and day-to-day operations implementing strategies and procedures to achieve goals within the structural engineering department. As a Structural Engineer Cody executes and designs for a diverse range of projects, comprising of retrofits/modifications and new construction, across multiple industrial process facilities, primarily those involved in the production of wood products. A licensed Professional Engineer in 9 states, Cody’s design expertise is centered around reinforced concrete and steel structures, with a particular emphasis on equipment support structures and foundations, as well as pre-engineered building foundations. Cody is active in multiple technical and professional societies.
History
Mid-South Engineering Company was founded in 1969 by four engineers with a common vision – to be a complete engineering service provider focused on total dedication to the client. The path to their goal was simple: work with good clients, select and train good employees, delegate authority, and allow room for the proper execution of the job.
