Vermont Biomass Power
Provides power to two independent district heat systems; one steam, one hot water. Two antiquated boilers were removed. A new power plant was added next to the original structure. All work had to be done in a historic preservation and flood plain area. The expanded building could not reduce the number of parking spaces in the State Capital district. New fuel receiving, fuel processing and storage systems, two new biomass boilers and ESP’s, and auxiliary systems were installed. A steam to hot water system was installed to provide the hot water district heat system. All systems were designed to add a turbine-generator set in the future.
